Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha is the safari capital of the country and a bustling tourism-driven city. Your driver-guide will meet you in Arusha or at Arusha Airport, and together, you will begin the transfer to Tarangire National Park. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River, which crosses the park and is the primary source of fresh water for wildlife. This quiet park is famous for its elephant migration, birdlife, and authentic safari atmosphere. Packed lunch at midday, and at the end of the afternoon’s game drive, you will make your way to Suricate Boma Lodge.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater

Be sure to wake up early today so there is no delay on your descent into the famous Ngorongoro Crater. As soon as you arrive in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will be amazed by the beauty around you. Even more so when you arrive at the crater’s edge and take in the fantastic view over one of the natural wonders of this world. The crater of this inactive volcano is approximately 3 million years old, 20km² in size, and the largest unbroken volcanic caldera in the world. Due to its natural borders, the wildlife in the crater is amazing. The crater is home to the Big Five and offers an excellent chance to spot the rare black rhino. Throw hyenas, zebras, buffalos, and elephants into the mix, and you have the perfect canvas for a pretty awesome safari experience! At the end of the afternoon, you go to Suricate Boma Lodge for a well-deserved night’s rest.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

After a good night’s rest, today is the ‘day of the lions.’ Have an early breakfast before checking out, and head towards Lake Manyara National Park. The park is approximately 330km², of which 200km² is made up of the lake itself when water levels are at a maximum. From a sea of pink flamingos as far as the eye can see to bull elephants at close range, Lake Manyara showcases a superb variety of herd animals and birdlife. One of the extraordinary aspects of this park is the tree-climbing lions. After exploring this park with its groundwater forest, you will commence the drive back to Arusha, where it all started, at mid-afternoon. Your heart and camera will be full of memories from your African safari adventure.
